Why Selected
This model represents a distinct configuration worth comparing. Selection is an editorial research choice, not a performance award.
Technology & Key Specs
Ultra-Pulse PI with Fine, Normal, Large and Salt timings. Select timings for the ground and target instead of assuming the most aggressive option is always best. Official documentation.
Where It Fits + Limitations
A configurable prospecting PI for buyers willing to learn ground balance and timing choices. A Salt setting does not establish waterproofing or guarantee performance on every beach.
A useful demonstration keeps target, coil, ground moisture and settings recorded. Compare repeatable signals before digging. Air tests and isolated finds do not establish your field depth. Ask to try a realistic session, including walking, carrying accessories and recovering targets.
Independent Field Evidence
Bill Paxton’s March 2023 field-test article is an identifiable external account. Read its setting and location context before applying it elsewhere. It is not an E10Shop test, and publication outside Garrett does not by itself establish absence of commercial ties. Read the source report.
Quick Alternatives
| Guide | Decision to test |
|---|---|
| GPX 6000 | Compare the offered GeoSense-PI coil package, carried balance and repeatable target response. |
| Goldmaster 24K | Compare ground-tracking behaviour and hot-rock responses using the supplied coil and a known target. |
Who It’s For
Suitable for a buyer with legal access to prospective ground and time to learn the chosen configuration. A newcomer should budget for training, travel, accessories and local service, not just the detector.
Evidence Confidence
| Layer | Confidence and limit |
|---|---|
| Manufacturer facts | Documented configuration; confirm current regional package. |
| External field evidence | Context-dependent; see the evidence section and disclosed connections. |
| Your result | Unverified until tested on your target and ground. |
Before paying, confirm exact coils, battery arrangements, warranty provider and service location. Request the current manual and written package contents.
FAQ
Is it a guaranteed upgrade?
No. Compare against your present setup on representative targets; a higher price is not evidence of a better result.
What should I test first?
Use one known target and one patch of local ground. Ask the demonstrator to change one timing or ground setting at a time, record each setting and repeat the sweep. Compare a usable signal against background noise, not just loudness.
Does the stated technology prove depth?
No fixed depth follows from the technology name. Target size, orientation and ground must be documented.
Is the whole package waterproof?
Check each component separately in the manual, including coil, control unit and headphones. Do not infer a rating for accessories from the detector rating.
What must the seller confirm?
Ask for a written, itemised package: exact coil names, batteries and chargers, headphone type, warranty territory and the service contact. Resolve differences between the advert, manual and quotation before placing an order.
