What the Magnetar 9000 is for
The Magnetar 9000 is a specialist natural-gold prospecting candidate. Assess it against your ground, target size and complete carried setup. This guide separates the manufacturer's published configuration from our buying interpretation; it does not award a depth ranking.
Published specification: identify the exact setup
| Manufacturer-stated item | Published configuration |
|---|---|
| Platform | Pulse induction; Easy / Expert menus |
| MG29 coil | 29 × 21 cm; detector 2.4 kg with battery |
| MG37 coil | 37 × 34 cm; detector 2.8 kg with battery |
| Detector water rating | IP68, up to 3 m |

MG29 or MG37: compare the actual offer
Our buying interpretation: choose the offered configuration you can carry and handle for a realistic session. Test balance while wearing the battery and carrying recovery equipment. A larger outline alone does not prove that the larger coil will find your target deeper in your ground.
Ask the seller to itemise both coil codes, covers and the complete bundle. The published package lists two coils, two batteries and Bluetooth headphones. A seller's regional package may differ; the manufacturer's package illustration is not a stock or delivery promise.
Battery, accessories and software questions
Distinguish batteries supplied from batteries installed. Ask which battery and charger are included, whether replacements can be obtained locally and where warranty work is performed. Check headphone use against your intended environment rather than assuming every audio accessory shares the detector's water rating.
Nokta's software page lists V3.04.04 dated 22 September 2026. Ask which version is on the offered unit and read Nokta's current instructions before an update. The update notice is manufacturer information, not evidence that we measured an improvement.
Who should shortlist it?
Shortlist it when your task is natural-gold prospecting and you can arrange a representative demonstration, training and a workable repair route. If you mostly want coin identification in parks, start with the general detector selection guide before comparing specialist prospecting packages.
For an existing detector owner, the useful question is which limitation the new setup solves. Record the present detector, coil, settings, ground and known target; compare them on the same task. An isolated find or an air-test video is not a repeatable head-to-head result. We have not performed that comparison.
Before deciding: package and service checklist
- Exact model and coil codes, with written bundle contents.
- Complete carried configuration, not a control-unit-only weight.
- Batteries, charging equipment and headphone arrangement.
- Local training, warranty contact and repair location.
- Delivery eligibility and returns for your own country.
- A demonstration with identified ground, target and settings if performance is central to your decision.
